Robot “Love Machine” Crochet Pattern

Robot “Love Machine” Crochet Pattern

This week has been wracked with nasty colds, deep coughs and an ear infection. The Happy Raptor found an old and very un-child-safe robot, so between naps and soups and medicines, I made her a little something to cheer her up.

This adorable little “Love Machine” can be snuggled by kids of all ages, and the little pop of color can be customized for any giftee.

It’s such a cute little Valentine’s Day gift, perfect for guys and gals. Anyone can make hearts for Valentine’s Day. Let’s think outside the box and get crafty!

Notes before Starting:

*This pattern is written in U.S. terms.

*This project is worked in joined rounds. Rounds are started with a chain and joined with a slip stitch unless otherwise stated.

*Your total stitch count will be in parentheses at the end of every row. This will help you to keep count of your stitches and make sure the finished product looks right. Chains and Slip Stitches do not count as stitches.

Special Stitch:

The 3ScDec is a bit tricky, so I’ve included a few pictures to help you. This decrease is done by inserting your hook into the front loops of 3 single crochets, yarn over your hook, and pulling the yarn through all four loops on your hook. Yarn over again and pull through remaining three loops on your hook.

Insert your hook into the Front Loops Only of the next 3 single crochet

Front Loops on the hook.

Back Loops still in round and NOT on the hook.

Yarn over your hook and pull through all four loops on your hook.

Two loops left on your hook. Yarn over and pull through remaining loops.

One loop left on your hook. 3ScDec is complete!

Sew the arms to the top lip of the body on each side, centered on the sides. Sew the legs to the middle of the bottom of the body, one on each side of the center. Finish off and weave in all ends.

Using black yarn, embroider eyelashes next to the safety eyes and create a small “v” a couple rows down and centered between the eyes to make a small mouth. Use the Watermelon yarn and make 2 small lines under each set of eyelashes to create blushing little cheeks.
